Getting serious about building the NBG after Recumbents rebuilt me (1 of 3)
After my first bike ride across America in 1979, I was probably in the worst physical condition of my life (not including the disaster brought about by my car wreck). I couldn’t even do a sit up because, unlike recumbents, the conventional bicycle does not work your abdominal muscles. Probably the only reason I was able handle the pain of riding a road bike a hundred miles a day during the last half of my ride was because I had gotten acclimated to such torture.
